Windows 10

The latest Microsoft Operating System is not far away with its release tipped for late July 2015 if the rumours are to be believed.  Windows 10 is expected to bring about some changes. The ‘Start’ menu that disappeared with Windows 8 is to return with a sleek new design that incorporates both the Windows 7 start menu and the Windows 8 / 8.1 tiles. As for the price, if you are running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost for the first year provided that you upgrade within the 12 months following its release. It seems Microsoft is now opting for subscriptions over a single purchase price. I’m still unsure as to whether this will be the scenario with Windows 10 or not. One can but be optimistic that this new OS will please those critical of Windows 8.1 and give us a sound and robust Operating System akin to the likes of Windows XP and Windows 7.
